Hi! I’m Alex
I work on advanced research projects for transformative social change.
Some things about me:
I grew up between New York and the rural countryside of Gifu, Japan.
Currently, I’m developing a philanthropic initiative for chronic pain–something I’ve lived with for many years.
Previously, I started Artemis, a $35M philanthropic startup for new model organisms in research.
Before that, I led drug discovery at Gordian, a SF biotech startup making cures for chronic diseases of aging.
Before that, I worked on in vivo CRISPR brain delivery for Alzheimer’s.
Before that, I worked on high content in vivo CRISPR screens for breast cancer.
I mostly write here. Reach out anytime on my email: alexaraki[dot]me[at]gmail.com 🙂
My work is generously supported by Emergent Ventures, Renaissance Philanthropy, Adam Marblestone, and many other wonderful people.
